SPECIAL EVENT

Steel Pan Spectacular

30 June 2009

Two steel pan players came to our school. We helped them unload the truck and learnt that if you dropped a drum it would be completely ruined. We had to be very careful.

The pans looked like steel cylinders which varied in size. The sound each produced depended on the size of the drum.

Some of us went up and got the chance to play different pans. It was kind of confusing as to how the sound was made but great fun!

At the end, they asked Mrs Dedman, Mrs Swinfield and Mrs Evans to play the children out of the assembly. It was extremely unusual and beautiful to listen to!

Aren't we playing well! We all felt like dancing.

What a great sound.
